The murder of Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov is one of the great unsolved mysteries of the Cold War.
On Sept. 7, 1978, Markov was poked with a poison-tipped umbrella while crossing London's Waterloo bridge. He died four days later.
As the 30th anniversary of the case approaches, Bulgaria says it's getting ready to close the file, citing a 30-year statute of limitations. Thet news angers Markov's cousin, Lyuben Markov, who demands justice for the murder. I am bitter and disgusted, Lyuben Markov told Bloomberg News. No one has the guts to resolve it


IF the Tories have any sense, they will appoint someone of stature to speak on foreign affairs. They could do no better than that wise old bird Sir Malcolm Rifkind
